Growth Street, the peer-to-peer marketplace that connects UK businesses with investors, has announced the appointment of Samantha Fray as business development manager for the Midlands, further expanding the northern sales team, headed up by Michael Ellis.
For the last 5 years Samantha has been helping Midlands SMEs to access the right finance for them, in her role as relationship manager at Aldermore Bank. Prior to this, Samantha worked in SME client management for Bibby Financial Services.
Based in Leicester, Samantha’s role is to originate and structure funding facilities for growing and ambitious SMEs across the East Midlands, through an extensive network consisting of entrepreneurs, business owners, intermediaries, advisors and many others specialising in the SME and mid-corporate markets.
Samantha Fray, business development manager (Midlands), Growth Street, says:
“With many high street banks no longer providing in-branch advice to small businesses, we’ve seen a huge knowledge and experience gap develop meaning that thousands of small businesses across the Midlands are missing out on the finance needed to realise their business’s ambitions.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Growth Street team and to have this opportunity to continue supporting SMEs across the Midlands.”
Michael Ellis, head of sales (North), Growth Street, says:
“Samantha’s excellent track record and network of contacts means she is going to be a real asset to the Growth Street team. We are rapidly expanding our regional teams to ensure we have ‘boots-on-the-ground’ funding experts right across the length and breadth of the UK. Samantha’s experience will help us provide more ambitious entrepreneurs with the funding they need to grow their businesses.
“With a true understanding of what businesses need and an ability to make quick decisions, Growth Street is well positioned to support SMEs in these uncertain times.”
