Our client is a diverse financial services group and a leading player in consumer lending, asset finance, fleet finance and invoice finance.

As they continue to execute their ambitious plans for expansion they are keen to appoint a high profile accountant to provide inspirational finance leadership to the group whose aim is to be the trusted brand for financial services in Europe by 2030.

The Finance Director will be responsible for the implementation of effective finance strategies, policies and plans to maximise financial performance ensuring that the finance function operates effectively and financial risks are managed.

Key accountabilities include:
  • Producing and gaining sign off for finance strategies, policies and plans for the group.
  • Managing accounting and management information to ensure that appropriate and challenging KPI's are in place.
  • Financial, regulatory and stator reporting, producing financial statements and subsidiary statutory accounts.
  • Overhead allocations and cost control, developing and maintaining procurement processes.
  • Financial controls, setting the accounting policy.
  • Leadership and people management - four direct reports, four matrix reports and an FTE of 40.
  • Tax compliance and planning.
  • Treasury duties, setting the treasury strategy with the COO and CEO.
  • Operational delivery, overseeing the commercial support provided to the business by the finance function.
  • Ad hoc project work.

Appropriate candidates will hold a relevant finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA and have 10 years+ experience in a fast moving finance function.

You must have a good working knowledge of finance systems and processes and be experienced in leading a finance team supporting business units with diverse issues.
Change management experience within a medium to large sized organisation would be an advantage.

The role requires someone with the ability to empathise with and influence senior managers and stakeholders and be able to think outside of the box.
