Job Vacancy: Head of New Business – Trade and International Finance - CBCRS



Basic salary £60-£85000 plus car allowance, excellent benefits and bonus

Our client is a UK based financial services group and one of the largest independent invoice finance companies in the world. They have a market leading position in the UK and an exceptional reputation for new business delivery and client relationship management.

In recent years the trade finance and international division has grown significantly and is now a key contributor to group profits and poised for further expansion based on this success.

Purpose of the role:
  • To shape and deliver the growth strategy for trade and international finance business in line with future growth plans.
  • To direct, lead and develop the team of technical managers in supporting the local sales teams and operations to maximise new business opportunities for trade and international products.
  • To be the “face” of trade and international in the external market and drive the development of products alongside the marketing and operations team.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
  • Lead and inspire the technical managers to deliver excellent technical advice and an excellent level of client service.
  • Work with the trade and international MD, local invoice finance sales teams, operating units and regional sales directors to drive new business for trade and international products, demonstrating a “deal doing” attitude.
  • Support the invoice finance corporate sales teams in driving, developing and maintaining new and existing sources of new business in order to maximise the ability to take on profitable new business.
  • Develop and maintain own network of business connections nationally. Upholding the reputation of the business and demonstrating the key behaviours.
  • To underwrite proposals in line with product criteria reporting any concerns to the group risk director and MD.
  • Share best practice, insight and market intelligence against product and market sectors to inform decisions and product development.
  • To develop the understanding of trade and international products by the sales/operations teams using different learning tools e.g. coaching/mentoring, seminars, e learning.
  • To develop and oversee the company risk policy in relation to trade finance and international and to cascade processes and procedures to the appropriate managers for implementation.

Strong leadership skills and an in depth technical knowledge of trade finance are essential in the role. You will be a key contributor to the future strategy and direction of this division and strong performance will lead to career development opportunities.
