Job Vacancy - Regional Director – Commercial Banking – The Midlands – M2 Recruitment


Job Description:

Our Client, a rapidly developing Banking organisation, requires a Relationship Director to lead their team operating in the Midlands.

Based from home but reporting into their flagship head office in the centre of Birmingham, you will be responsible for managing a driven and professional team of Relationship Managers and their support staff to provide an all-round banking proposition and loans for businesses up to £10 million spread throughout the region.

You will be tasked with providing motivation, leadership and coaching to your team in the management of their portfolio of banking relationships. In addition you will encourage and support them to actively seek out new opportunities for business. You will be proactive in assisting with the structuring of larger, more complex lending facilities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Relationship Managers and their support staff.

  • To establish and enhance relationships with key sector organisations, professional intermediaries to enhance the Bank’s proposition and support the achievement of key objectives.

  • Provide training and guidance to develop the skills and knowledge of the team.

  • Delivery of the sales management process whilst adhering to bank risk policies.

  • Monitor performance on an ongoing basis via the performance management process.

  • Coach RM’s in structuring credit deals, providing added value to improve credit applications, discussing and agreeing the Bank’s appetite for individual deals

  • Understand the competitive landscape and the local network /competitors to maximise income opportunities without diluting credit quality.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating at a high level within another Banking/Financial Services organisation and have demonstrable experience of managing and leading a team.A network of established professional introducers will be highly advantageous.
