£60,000 to £75,000 plus bonus, car and excellent banking benefits

Our client is a major bank who has seen strong growth over the past two years. They are looking to recruit a senior manager to run a specialist team in the agriculture sector. In order to be considered for this role you must have a background in the commercial banking space and have experience of dealing with customers in the £1-25m t/o space.  Although a  background in agricultural leadership is preferred, if you have strong leadership skills from within the wider generalist side of commercial banking then we would like to hear from you.

Key responsibilities:
  • To contribute as a member of the area Board to the leadership and planning of the area in partnership with other senior members of staff under the overall direction of the area director.
  • Manage, motivate, develop, coach and appraise team members in meeting client needs through business objectives, so that their individual and collective performance delivers stretching business goals.
  • Develop the capability of relationship management team, and support them in all aspects of their work, specifically developing their own local business plans and manage their client portfolio to ensure full adherence with all policy, procedure and compliance requirements.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate the team’s performance against business objectives, including the supervision of regulated products and taking corrective action where appropriate.
  • Provide the appropriate support to the relationship management service for clients and introducers in and across client segments ensuring effective satisfaction of their business needs through all the available offers.
  • Promote the bank’s image in this Key Market community/sector with a range of stakeholders including influential, high value clients in order to develop business.
  • Ensure the balance between risk and reward of assets within the team is effectively managed ensuring that all lending and contingent liabilities meet the bank’s asset quality and policy requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective two-way communication and relationships with all related business units, business direction, and ownership of targets and provide constructive feedback to facilitate the sharing of best practice and performance improvement.
  • Ensure operational and business development activity compliance with internal and external polices (including credit), asset quality, standards, reporting, legal, statutory and /or regulatory requirements are met in order to reduce business and personal risk and operational loss within the bank.
  • Manage the cultural, behavioural and business changes necessary to achieve the continuous development of a client orientated business, ensuring the effective implementation and exploitation of change.
  • Through effective leadership and promotion of equal opportunities, manage, motivate develop and appraise individuals to enhance individual and team performance undertaking the recruitment process when required.
  • Promote the bank’s image and professional profile in the local community and with influential, high value clients in order to develop business in line with agreed performance objectives.
  • Objectively assesses the performance of others in accordance with the process, assessing capabilities and potential. Gives constructive feedback in order to identify individual’s development needs. Maintains an overview of the appraisal process, ensuring consistency and fairness.
