A new and louder voice for the UK’s SMEs
UK200Group, the UK’s leading professional association of independent accountancy and law firms has launched a new initiative at their AGM that is set to give the SMEs of the UK a stronger and unrivalled network of support and national representation.
Member firms of UK200Group already act in a professional capacity for over 150,000 small to medium size businesses across the UK and see this new, four pronged initiative, as one that will provide all the assistance those businesses need to grow and achieve success, whilst also taking care of the talent of tomorrow.
The strategy comprises four strands, which include, the new UK200Group Entrepreneurship Academy; a development programme for young entrepreneurs that will give budding new business owners, globally, access to help with business planning and business growth, alongside the provision of a better understanding of accounting, finance and legal matters.
The UK200Group SME Voice will act for both new and established businesses helping to address and identify issues affecting this sector through debate and expert panel discussions. It is hoped that the results of the SME Voice debates will lead to change and better support to SMEs from the impact of government and EU legislation that often ignores the implications for the small business owner.
The Pathways Programme will support aspiring leaders and build on the existing links that UK200Group has with leading training providers in management, leadership and business development. However, it will also go further within the membership to provide a clear route for people in member firms to get ahead.
Finally, the Industry Groups will bring together the specialisms of UK200Group members and throw a spotlight on and access to their expert knowledge that spans a variety of industry sectors including farming, construction, healthcare and professional services.
Declan Swan, chief executive officer of UK200Group said: “This is a very important step for UK200Group and redefines us as the voice of those that we represent. These changes will ensure that we can forge strong relationships across many sectors and make sure that a greater number of people benefit from the advice and knowledge that UK200Group members possess.”
