Leadership change at Forum of Private Business
The Forum of Private Business (Forum), a leading business support group dedicated to supporting smaller private and family businesses, announces the departure of its CEO Phil Orford following this month’s general election.
Nick Montague, non-executive director at the forum said: “After seven years and two parliamentary cycles, Phil has made the decision to move on. As a Board, we thank him for his considerable contribution in raising the profile of small businesses across the UK and providing them with a voice in Westminster; a contribution that was recognised with an MBE in 2013. We wish Phil good fortune with his future endeavours.
We are delighted to announce that Ian Cass, sales director at the forum, who has been a key part of the organisation since early 2013, will be stepping up to the role of managing director on Phil’s departure. As a result we are able to reassure both our members and the team that serve them of continuity with our strategy.”
On the announcement of his departure Phil said: “It has been an honour and a privilege to lead an organisation which does so much to support its members on a day-to-day basis – those small businesses which make up the backbone of the UK economy. I am very proud of the Forum’s role in influencing successive governments to adopt policies and initiatives which support and nurture UK businesses. In recent years we have helped deliver significant change which makes running a business in Britain today easier and fairer.”
