Machinery company drives growth and charity support with Aldermore funding
Arnold Plant Hire, a Stockport-based business which hires plant and machinery, has received £1.7m in asset financing from Aldermore, the specialist lender and savings bank which recently celebrated its seventh anniversary.
Arnold Plant Hire, which has been trading for 25 years and employs 25 people, owns a fleet in excess of 500 vehicles and machines, which it hires out to the construction industry and other industries, including foundries, recycling and manufacturing. The funding from Aldermore has helped Arnold Plant Hire to expand its fleet, diversifying the different types of machines the company can offer its customers.
In addition, Arnolds donates a proportion of the hire profits made on selected machines to various local and national charities.
Arnolds have had a JCB machine painted blue in support of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Charity, supported by one of Arnold Plant Hire’s clients, White Moss Horticulture, the UK’s leading green waste composter and the largest supplier of peat-reduced and peat-free growing media to UK retailers. The official handover of the first blue machine to White Moss Horticulture took place on 31 May 2016. The handover was attended by representatives from Aldermore, Arnold Plant Hire, White Moss Horticulture, Guide Dogs for the Blind and one of the charity’s guide dogs.
Stuart Hunter, director at Arnold Plant Hire, said:
“The funding we’ve received from Aldermore over the years has enabled us to grow our business substantially. New machinery will help us to expand our offering in the waste and recycling sector, enabling us to continue to build on the growth we’ve seen in this area in recent years. We are pleased to donate a proportion of the hire fees to charities such as the Guide Dogs for the Blind and hope our contribution will help them continue the great work they do for blind and partially-sighted people.”
Mike Kilford, business development manager at Aldermore, said:
“Arnold Plant Hire is an inspiring business and we’re pleased to have been able to contribute to its tremendous success over the years. The purchase of this additional machinery puts the business in a good position to boost its growth in the future. The fact that it is also being used to further Arnold Plant Hire’s charitable giving highlights the integrity of the company, and we hope for their continued success in the future.”
