Monahans announces double promotions and office relocation amid impressive growth
Monahans, the largest independent accountancy and business advisory firm in the South West, today announces a new director. Stephanie Hurst, who is based in Swindon, is promoted to the position of tax director for corporate tax consultancy and personal tax Compliance.
Stephanie holds more than 15 years of practice experience and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. She joined Monahans in 2014 with a wealth of specialist knowledge and vital management experience, and quickly became an integral member of the company’s tax division.
In her new role as tax director, based in Monahans’ Swindon office, Stephanie will spearhead the corporate tax function, with an overarching management role across all the business’s tax departments. Most crucially, she will play a critical part in ensuring that Monahans and its clients are well prepared for any significant operational tax changes that may occur soon, such as Making Tax Digital, the corporation tax rise due in April 2023 and further changes that may occur with any government shifts in taxation policy.
Alongside Stephanie, Monahans has also welcomed back Becky Young to the team as senior client portfolio manager. Before starting a business of her own in 2018, Becky worked for Monahans as a client portfolio manager for 12 years. Now, having built up a strong local and regional professional reputation, Becky re-joins the Monahans team at a more senior level with greater managerial and business knowledge and an enviable client list.
Discussing Stephanie’s and Becky’s successes, Simon Tombs, managing partner for Monahans, said: “Stephanie is an integral part of the Monahans tax team. Her knowledge is second to none, she builds incredible rapport with her clients, and she is an accomplished tax adviser. As director, I am excited to see how she steers the tax division of Monahans and can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.
“I am also incredibly enthused to welcome Becky back to the Monahans family. I was sad to see her go back in 2018, but she returns with wider experience, invaluable knowledge and skills that only running your own small business will teach and that will help Monahans build on its recent successes.”
Speaking about her promotion, Stephanie Hurst commented: “It’s a very exciting time for Monahans and I am really pleased to be on this journey with the firm. To be recognised as a director is very rewarding, and I look forward to being an integral part of Monahans future.”
The appointments come alongside the news that Monahans is redoubling its commitment to Swindon by relocating to a larger office to accommodate its expanding footprint driven by business growth in the wake of the pandemic. The new office, based at Hermes House, Fire Fly Avenue, is in the vicinity of the Swindon Outlet Village, and will accommodate the expansion that will see the business meet its overall growth targets over the next few years.
