RICS Housing Market Survey comment – managing director of property finance at Hampshire Trust Bank
Commenting on the RICS Housing Market Survey, Robert Grigg, managing director of property finance at Hampshire Trust Bank, said:
“With house prices rising for a fourth consecutive month, today’s figures further emphasise that while buyer appetite remains strong, there simply isn’t enough affordable stock on the market. A key solution to remedying this problem is providing better support for SME house builders, which have played an important role in developing affordable houses across Britain for decades. This is where the challengers banks can step in, as we look to offer flexible finance solutions that are customised to a smaller house builder’s needs. Britain’s housing shortage is yet to be solved, but by mobilising our small and medium sized house builders through accessible finance, we can take a significant step forward.”
