Study reveals which businesses Brits are starting from home
Over 11,000 Brits search Google for advice on how to start a new business every month, and now a new study of internet search data has revealed what type of businesses Brits are starting from home.
The research, which was carried out by Hitachi Capital Invoice Finance, examined the average number of monthly Google searches by Brits looking to start a new business, and found that clothing businesses, cleaning businesses and food businesses are the most common to start from home, each with 350 monthly searches.
Wax melt candle businesses and gardening businesses also feature among the top five most common businesses Brits are starting from home, with 250 and 200 monthly searches respectively, while dog grooming and bakery businesses feature in the top 10.
Some of the more unusual businesses that Brits are starting from home include lingerie and photobooth businesses.
