UK200Group announce celebrations for 30th annual conference
Members of the UK200Group of independent accountancy and law firms are preparing to make their way to the West Midlands for the organisation’s 30th annual conference.
The UK200Group is delighted to announce that its 2015 annual conference will take place in Birmingham from 11 to 13 November 2015.
The conference, which is now in its 30th year, will see accountants and lawyers from across the UK descend on the internationally renowned Belfry golf club and hotel to learn and share ideas that will help them create opportunities for their clients in the year ahead.
This year’s conference, entitled “Forging Ahead Together”, will feature talks from a range of speakers who will provide delegates with practical information about the current business environment and how they can help their clients capitalise on the UK’s continuing economic growth.
Speakers at the conference include internationally recognised entrepreneur, Sahar Hashemi, who will talk about how she launched the UK’s first US-style coffee house, Coffee Republic, and how members can help the businesses they work with to become more entrepreneurial.
Delegates will also hear from one of the UK’s most familiar stockbrokers, Justin Urquhart Stewart from 7IM, who will provide a comprehensive update on the world economy and the potential impact on clients.
Other speakers at the event include Simon Blake (a partner at Price Bailey and chairman of the UK200Group Corporate Finance Panel) and Robert Postlethwaite (managing director of UK200Group member law firm, Postlethwaite).
Open to members and non-members, the conference will offer two days of high level strategic workshops, discussion sessions, presentations and seminars designed to keep delegates up to date with the latest issues affecting all industry sectors, covering topics such as changes in the world of tax, corporate finance, shareholder and partnership agreements, and trends in the property sector.
This year’s conference will also be an opportunity to reflect back on the last 30 years of the UK200Group, while looking ahead at the organisation’s new modernisation strategy.
Nick Willis, UK200Group president, said: “It is amazing to see just how far the UK200Group has come in the last 30 years.
“This conference will offer both members and non-members the opportunity to engage in a range of topics likely to affect them, their practice and most importantly their clients.
“I am sure that many of our members will come away with a greater clarity on their strategy for the year ahead, which will directly benefit the UK business community.”
An international forum will also take place on Wednesday 11 November, which will include speakers such as Paul Smith (head of trade finance, SME banking at Lloyds Bank), Stephen Hamlet (IAPA chief executive) and Elizabeth Ward from Virtuoso Legal.
