Azets completes strategic acquisition from KPMG – enters Nordic audit market and doubles presence in Sweden
Azets, the international business advisory group, has completed a strategic acquisition in Sweden that signals the start of an ambitious growth plan across the Nordics – including its first entry into the regional audit and advisory market.
The deal, first announced in February 2025, includes KPMG Sweden’s audit, advisory, and tax services for small businesses, selected services for mid-sized businesses, and audit and advisory services for municipalities and regional authorities.
A total of 300 colleagues, including 14 partners, have now joined Azets Sweden, expanding its footprint to more than 30 cities and lifting annual revenues in Sweden to SEK 1bn.
This is the first time Azets has offered audit services in the Nordic region and forms part of the Group’s wider growth strategy to build a £1bn business by 2027.
Chris Horne, group chief executive officer at Azets, said: “This is a significant and symbolic step forward for Azets, as we lay the foundations for long-term growth across the Nordics. Sweden is our launchpad – but our sights are firmly set on building a leading audit, tax and advisory capability across the region, combining deep local knowledge with the scale and strength of our Group.
“The Nordic market is a key pillar of our Group strategy. We’re committed to investing in talent, expanding our services, and supporting clients with the trusted, technology-enabled expertise they need to move forward with confidence.”

Carolina Brandtman, Sweden managing director at Azets, added: “Through this strategic step, we strengthen our ability to meet our clients’ growing need for financial services and qualified advisory support in a cohesive and locally rooted way.
“We warmly welcome 300 new colleagues with deep expertise. Together, we are shaping a strong, shared culture defined by client focus, competence, and commitment – one that will help us deliver long-term value to clients and grow together as one Azets.”
Mathias Arvidsson, partner and CEO of KPMG Sweden, commented: “We are focusing our presence in Sweden on 12 locations to build a stronger KPMG. This will give us the strength to accelerate our offering and continue creating value for customers, employees, and society. The transaction, in collaboration with Azets, has been carried out with great professionalism and expertise. We wish Azets Sweden, along with the employees and clients who are now joining their operations, all the best and look forward to continued successful cooperation.”

The newly acquired business will form a new, dedicated division within Azets Sweden focused on audit and advisory services. The transaction follows a period of strong growth for Azets across its core markets in the UK, Ireland, and Nordics, where the Group continues to invest in local expertise and progressive technology.
With established operations in Norway, Denmark, and Finland, Azets sees this as a springboard for a wider Nordic expansion in audit and advisory services – strengthening its position as the trusted partner to SMEs and public sector organisations across the region.
