Jumbo Interactive acquires Dream Car Giveaways, further expanding UK business
Australian-headquartered Jumbo Interactive Limited (“Jumbo”) today announced the acquisition of UK-based Dream Car Giveaways (“DCG”).
Worcestershire-based DCG is a leading prize draw provider where players can participate to win high-value prizes such as cars, cash, property, and lifestyle products. DCG has awarded over £155m in prizes to more than 135,000 winners to date.
Jumbo founder and CEO, Mike Veverka, said, “This is a strategically significant acquisition, bolstering our existing UK footprint of Managed Lottery providers Gatherwell and StarVale. We identified DCG as a key acquisition target given its trusted brand, large, loyal customer base, and cultural alignment with Jumbo.”
DCG director Marcus Hickling said, “With ongoing changes in technology and increased competition in the prize draw space, we’re pleased that DCG will soon be part of Jumbo – a recognised global leader in digital lotteries and managed services. We look forward to working closely with the Jumbo team to continue growing our prize draws.”
Jumbo’s head of operations for the UK, Tam Watson, said, “This is a timely investment, with the prize draw market blossoming to a billion-pound sector within the last decade. During this time, Gatherwell and StarVale have led the way in using the prize draw model to raise funds for good causes such as Toyota’s Good For Cricket and the Police Credit Union’s Friends of No1CopperPot. As we look forward to shaping the forthcoming voluntary code for prize draw operators, the exciting addition of DCG to the Jumbo UK family can only strengthen our existing charity lottery and raffle fundraising offerings.”
DCG’s founding directors will remain in their roles to lead the business through its next stage as part of Jumbo.
RSM UK advised the shareholders of DCG in the transaction, led by corporate finance partner Helen Brocklebank, with support from Joe Gill, Rich Winter, Aleks Djukanovic and William Jervis.
Helen said, “We’re delighted to have advised DCG on this deal and supported the shareholders throughout their incredible growth journey over the last four years. We look forward to seeing the business flourish under Jumbo’s ownership, providing even more opportunities for people to win their dream.”
