“Having said that, Black Friday sales still hold significant consumer pull. Nationwide predicts over 12 million transactions this year, even though 38% of shoppers say they won’t buy anything. The timing, being so close to Christmas, continues to provide a general boost to retail.
“Some brands, such as Patagonia, are even against Black Friday and run their own campaigns to get consumers to make more sustainable choices by openly rejecting the day.
