Pioneering new men’s fertility support platform boosted by Start Up Loan
NeXYs Fertility, a platform dedicated to providing a space and resources for men surrounding fertility, has secured a five-figure Start Up Loan through the British Business Bank’s programme, with support from its partner, the Business Enterprise Fund (BEF).
The idea was created by Shaun Greenaway when he realised how few spaces existed for men to talk openly about fertility. Much of this was informed by Shaun’s own personal experience.
Shaun Greenaway, co-founder of NeXYs Fertility, said: “When I went through fertility struggles myself, I realised there was no real support for men. I wanted to change that, to build a space where men could feel seen, understood and supported”.
Given male fertility challenges are often overlooked in mainstream conversation, NeXYs works to tackle this. The platform offers digital resources, expert insights and community connection, allowing men to share their experiences and access guidance.

To help to turn this idea into a fully operational platform and business, Shaun worked with BEF to access the support needed, ultimately securing a Start Up Loan. Shaun used the money to invest in the platform’s foundations, building its online presence along with digital resources and targeted campaigns.
Shaun added: “The loan gave me the chance to move from concept to reality. It covered the crucial early-stage costs and gave me the confidence to launch. Beyond the funding, the mentoring from BEF has been invaluable. It’s helped me sharpen my focus and plan long-term growth.”
Today, NeXYs Fertility is connecting with a growing audience of men and couples, providing reassurance and resources at a time when they’re needed most. It is also quickly becoming recognised as a trusted voice for men’s health and fertility awareness.
Looking ahead, Shaun is focused on expanding NeXYs’ partnerships with fertility clinics, corporate wellbeing programmes and online networks. His goal is to reach more men, strengthen community engagement and bring male fertility into mainstream discourse.
Julie Micklethwaite, investment manager at BEF, said: “Shaun’s empathy and determination stood out from day one. He’s tackling an important issue with compassion and professionalism. The Start Up Loan gave him the platform to turn that passion into an impactful business, and it’s rewarding to see NeXYs taking shape.”
Cat Smith, senior network manager for the British Business Bank, added: “Behind every small business is the passion to make a difference. That’s why it’s important that these entrepreneurs have the support and funding to turn this passion into a reality. What Shaun has achieved with NeXYs Fertility is incredible, solving a real world issue for men through an innovative new platform. This is just the beginning, with this vital work set to change how men’s fertility is discussed in the future.”
