HURST strengthens its ranks with four appointments
Accounting and business advisory firm HURST has strengthened three of its teams with its latest appointments.
Sam Parry and Harvey Hubbard have joined the business services team as a senior manager and manager respectively.
HURST has also welcomed Kate Oakes as a corporation tax compliance manager in the tax team.
The firm’s accounts and business advisory team has been strengthened by the arrival of Aamilah Mohammed as an associate.
HURST partner and head of practice development Simon Brownbill said: “We are delighted to welcome Sam, Harvey, Kate and Aamilah to the firm. They each bring valuable experience, technical expertise and fresh perspectives that will further strengthen our teams and enhance the service we provide to clients.
“These appointments reflect our continued investment in talented people as we grow our national client base and expand the range of services we offer.
“Attracting high-calibre professionals from leading firms is testament to the opportunities available at HURST, and supports our ambitious plans for the future as part of the Dains Group.”
Sam, a former semi-professional rugby union player with Macclesfield and Harrogate, has relocated to the north west from Top 50 practice Mercer & Hole in Milton Keynes.
After training at KPMG, Sam spent two years in Australia at accountancy firm William Buck before returning to the UK.
Harvey, who trained and qualified at BDO, has also relocated from the south. He was previously an audit client manager at Kirk Rice, based in Fleet, Hampshire.
The business services team carries out audit, compliance, strategic advisory, outsourcing and business planning work for a growing national client base. It is the largest team at HURST, with more than 70 staff.

Kate, a chartered tax adviser with more than 20 years’ experience, has joined HURST from KPMG.
Kate, a community choir member, trained at Deloitte before joining Salford Citizens Advice Bureau as an advice service manager, then returning to practice with KPMG.
Aamilah has moved from Pickard & Co in Sale to HURST’s accounts and business advisory team. The team specialises in helping businesses modernise their financial operations by adopting cloud accounting technologies, streamlining data systems, and managing day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll functions.
