Skipton Business Finance appoints Phil Sproston to drive growth across the North West
Skipton Business Finance (SBF) has appointed Phil Sproston as regional sales director for the North West.
Phil joins SBF after almost a decade with Close Brothers Invoice Finance. Having started as a sales support executive, he progressed to regional sales director and spent the past six years structuring working capital and asset-based lending facilities for businesses across the region.
Phil will lead SBF’s regional new business activity, bringing local knowledge and a personal approach to specialist finance. Working closely with brokers, accountants and corporate finance advisers, he will help deliver tailored funding solutions for SMEs. His appointment will support SBF’s continued growth and its commitment to providing a high standard of service to businesses and introducers.
Phil said: “The North West has an incredibly active and supportive business community. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the advisers and business owners I’ve developed relationships with over the years.
“What attracted me to SBF was its willingness to listen and the flexibility it can offer. Every business has different plans and priorities, so it is important to look at the whole picture before deciding how best to support them.
“This is an exciting time to join SBF, and I’m looking forward to working with the team and making a positive difference to businesses throughout the region.”
Jim Furey, commercial director (North) at Skipton Business Finance, added: “Phil brings strong commercial judgement, energy and a genuine commitment to achieving the right outcome for each business. His approach aligns closely with how we work at SBF.
“I’m delighted to welcome Phil to the team. His appointment adds further depth to our regional offering, and I look forward to seeing the contribution he will make.”
