Former school in Devon sold for luxury care home development
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of a care home development site at the former Mill Water School in Honiton, Devon.
Planning permission was granted in June 2026 for a 70-bedroom care home, featuring all en suite wetrooms. The scheme also includes a range of communal amenities such as an open-plan café, salon, cinema room, choice of lounges and dining rooms, landscaped gardens, and terraced balconies.
The care home site is well-placed to serve the local community, located to the south of Littledown Primary Academy, near Honiton Bottom Road in the market town of Honiton, East Devon.
The 1.27-acre site was identified by experienced specialist care developer, Frontier Estates Limited, as having suitability for care home development, thanks to its highly attractive demand demographics and excellent micro location within the town.
Following a sales process led by Sara Hartill at Christie & Co, Frontier Estates Limited has sold the site to a major national care provider, for whom it will form part of their latest care home development pipeline.
