Moore Kingston Smith acquires Luminex to strengthen specialist accounting and financial reporting expertise
Moore Kingston Smith (MKS) has acquired Luminex, a Reading-based specialist professional services firm. The acquisition adds an established team and specialist expertise in financial reporting, technical accounting, valuations and financial operations to its business.
The deal broadens MKS’s support for businesses with complex accounting and audit compliance requirements. It also builds the firm’s presence in the Thames Valley alongside its Reading and Heathrow teams.
Luminex serves clients nationally from its office just outside Reading. Its 22 consultants and two partners, Andrew Wigmore, managing partner and Joe Hill, support fast-growth SMEs, private equity-backed businesses, AIM-listed companies and multinational groups.
Luminex supports clients through their year-end and external audit, including outsourced group and subsidiary accounts, technical accounting papers, IFRS conversions and project-based audit or transaction support. The firm also carries out accounting valuations including purchase price allocations, valuing complex financial instruments and share based payments.
Luminex clients will also be able to draw on MKS’s wider services, including tax, payroll, valuations and transaction advice. The acquisition advances MKS’s ambition to develop a specialist hub for businesses with more complex reporting needs.

Matt Meadows, managing partner at Moore Kingston Smith, said: “Luminex is a strong fit for MKS, bringing experience that will help clients manage the complexity their year-end reporting can bring. Its established team and client base strengthen our position in an important market and enable us to offer a wider range of advice. We’re looking forward to bringing together the best of both firms.”

Andrew Wigmore, managing partner at Luminex, said: “This is an exciting next step for our team. As part of MKS, we can draw on a much wider range of expertise while continuing to offer the specialist approach our clients value. It means we can do even more to help businesses across the Thames Valley and the UK navigate financial and strategic challenges.”
The deal comes as MKS prepares to rebrand as Auren in March 2027. Together with partner firms in its European legal group, MKS is creating a new pan-European professional services group, combining local relationships with greater cross-border support for clients.
