HBF appoints three senior home builder executives to its board
HBF has strengthened its Board with the appointment of three senior industry figures representing the broad industry spread of its membership. The new additions will supplement the existing board and help lead the organisation during a period of sustained regulatory and political challenges.
Dean Finch, chief executive of Persimmon Homes; Greg Hill, deputy chief executive of Hill Group, and Mark White, managing director of Bargate, represent very different types and sizes of house building businesses. Their combined experience will support HBF’s strategic work as it works to create a policy environment that will allow house builders of all sizes to play their part in helping the government meet its ambitious housing targets.
Dean represents one of the country’s largest home builders, brings extensive leadership experience, and a proven track record of driving operational and commercial success across major UK businesses.
Greg’s in-depth experience in high-rise development and proven track record in driving sustainability and social value across major urban projects will support the board’s strategic leadership.
Mark offers the perspective of a leading SME builder, drawing on over two decades with Bargate, where he was the first employee and now leads as managing director, supporting the 5-star HBF-rated builder deliver homes, including a significant proportion of affordable housing.
The appointments come as HBF continues to evolve its structure to ensure it is best placed to lead on the issues that matter most to its members, from addressing the housing shortage and navigating regulatory change, to raising build quality and engaging effectively with government.
These changes follow the retirement from the HBF board of John Tutte, chairman of Bellway, who steps down after ten years of dedicated service.
