BDO promotes almost 2,000 people including 24 new partners
Accountancy and business advisory organisation BDO LLP has announced the promotion of almost 2,000 of its people, including 24 newly promoted partners across its audit, tax, consulting, risk & outsourcing, deals and central operations business areas.
Effective from 1 November 2025, the partner promotions follow the appointment of 16 new external partners since January, taking BDO’s partnership to more than 500.
Of this cohort of newly promoted partners, just under a third are based in regions outside of London and over 40% are female, supporting BDO’s commitment of achieving a 30% female partnership by the end of 2030 as a signatory of the HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter.
Mark Shaw, managing partner at BDO commented: “Investing in our people and recognising the talent in our organisation is incredibly important to us and I’d like to extend my congratulations to each person who has been promoted.”

In addition to the partner promotions, BDO has promoted more than 1,000 people in its audit practice, 342 across consulting, risk & outsourcing, and 183 in its deals business areas, along with more than 250 in its tax team. A further 175 people have been promoted across its central operations functions. Over half of these promotions are in regions outside of London.
Mark added: “Each of our newly promoted partners should be commended on their commitment to supporting the businesses we work with, finding solutions to challenges and driving the growth of our clients and of BDO.
“Our strength as a business comes from the impact our people deliver to their clients, to the communities we operate in, to our planet, and always through a lens of good governance. I look forward to seeing the careers of our people continue to develop and grow.”
Five people have been promoted to partner in BDO’s audit practice: Rachel Brittain, Robert Conner, Lauren Harrison, Chris Johnson and Rupert Livingstone.
Oivind Andresen, Christopher Beveridge, Bennie Steenkamp and Ross Swan have all been promoted to partner in BDO’s consulting, risk & outsourcing team.
BDO’s deals business area has five new partners: Helena Cartmell, Gemma Flanagan, Jeff Gardner, Matthew Savage and David Wentholt.
Ece Akser, Laura Burton, Gareth Hill, John Middlemass, Kristi Middleton, Natasha Patel and Kamay Shipp join BDO’s tax team as newly promoted partners.
BDO’s central operations business area sees three new partners across its governance team, IT department and ethics, quality & risk team: Catherine Kewish, Nik Miller and Rupak Vasishta have all received promotions.
