Moore Kingston Smith acquires restructuring & insolvency firm
Moore Kingston Smith LLP, a leading UK multi-disciplinary advisory, tax and audit firm, has acquired CBW Recovery (CBWR), a London-based partnership of insolvency practitioners.
The acquisition of CBWR’s team of two licensed insolvency practitioners and eleven professionals, led by Joe Colley, expands and strengthens Moore Kingston Smith’s existing restructuring & insolvency team.
Mirroring the full spectrum of insolvency appointments and advisory work Moore Kingston Smith already provides, the CBWR team’s strong reputation in the nonprofit sector further enhances the firm’s offering in the sphere, in which it is already a market leader on the audit and advisory side.

Moore Kingston Smith is the first UK accountancy firm to receive PE investment to fund its M&A programme while keeping its coveted partnership status. Following the acquisition of Shipleys in October 2024, WMT in June and Moore Northern Ireland in August, CBWR is the latest to join the growing firm.
