Squire Patton Boggs adds global financial services partner in London
Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce that Ranajoy Basuwill join the firm’s London office as partner in the Financial Services Practice Group where, he will serve as hlobal head of structured finance and head of the firm’s India practice. He joins from McDermott Will & Emery where he was head of structured finance and chair of the India practice.
Mr. Basu is a highly experienced global finance lawyer, focusing on all types of structured finance arrangements. He is also recognized as a pioneer in impact investment and a leading lawyer for cross-border social impact finance structures, sustainable procurement, and supply chain finance.

The addition follows a series of recent lateral partner additions to the firm’s Financial Services practice, including global head Private Capital and Direct Lending Gabriel Yomi Dabiri and a corresponding team in New York and Washington DC; global head of Financial Regulation Monica Gogna and a corresponding team in London and funds specialist Cassandra W. Borchers in the US.

Mr. Basu has almost two decades’ experience of advising clients, from global financial institutions, funds, and non-bank lenders to private equity firms and corporates, on complex structured finance transactions in multiple jurisdictions. His focus includes private capital, securitisation, asset-backed finance (including digital technology and data financing), debt capital markets and debt restructurings.
Mr. Basu is also a pioneer in cross-border social impact finance, including social and development impact bonds, renewable energy and “green” structured finance transactions. He has advised governments, NGOs, financial institutions, funds, foundations, and charitable institutions around the world on numerous projects.
