Network as much as you can

We’ve all heard the phrase “It’s not what you know but who you know” and it is true that contacts can get you places. It will also help to be known as the person that is nice and makes an effort with others. Even if you aren’t in contact with those higher up in your company, word of your reputation can filter through meaning you have a better chance of getting noticed.
Try and stand out
This is particularly true if you work in a larger company, but it is always important to try and stand out from the crowd. If there are many people within your business you can all easily blend into one – something that isn’t good if you are looking to get ahead. There are many ways you can stand out and one of the best is if you are a specialist in a certain area or have knowledge that can help. Don’t be afraid to share this knowledge and wisdom with others – being known as the person who is a great help is always a fantastic position to be in. Whether you specialise in web design, sales or a more specific program, it is always a good quality to have.
Learn whenever you can
