AAT publishes 2019–20 Annual Report: Working with impact
AAT has published its 2019–20 Annual Report, providing an overview of the organisation’s performance during the last financial year.
With the theme of ‘working with impact’ the new report measures AAT’s success by the impact it has on people’s lives and careers, on businesses, on economies and on society as a whole. It focuses on what AAT has achieved, the environment it is operating in, its future outlook and the challenges ahead, alongside the financial statements.
AAT’s highlights in 2019-20 include:
- Approval by the government of AAT’s new Level 2 apprenticeship standard and assessment plan – which will increase the number of available apprenticeships
- An energetic programme of lobbying – championing the small business voice on topics such as simplifying the tax regime and reducing the burden of legislation
- Growing popularity of the Informi website – AAT’s free online advice platform for start-ups and small businesses – visited more than 410,000 times
- More than 250 events across the UK – supporting AAT members with local networking and Continuing Professional Development
- Over 400,000 views of AAT Stories videos – a series of inspirational documentary-style films that discover the real people and heroes of AAT and the accountancy profession.
AAT chief executive, Mark Farrar, said:
“We’ve really focused on our impact this year and the way we change lives and help individuals and businesses to succeed. That’s why we’re here, that’s what we do. The 2019-20 financial year saw us deliver a strong performance in a challenging operating environment. With the ongoing uncertainty around the impact of Covid-19 and Brexit about to get real, we’ll continue to support members as we navigate these uncharted waters. We’ve been changing people’s lives for 40 years and we’ll continue to do so – whatever the future holds.”
Numbers of new full members and AAT qualified bookkeepers were encouragingly up on last year seeing AAT continue to develop in the bookkeeping market. AAT also achieved a customer satisfaction rating of 80.8 – benchmarked against the most competitive and highest scoring sectors in the UK Customer Service Index (UKCSI). AAT’s UKCSI score exceeds the all-sector average of 76.9 and was achieved in a period where national customer satisfaction is on the decline.
