Accountant from Plymouth celebrates promotion with leading firm
An accountant from Plymouth who has been with Westcotts since leaving school in the city is celebrating after being promoted to a director with the leading South West firm.
Matt Keane, 29, joined Westcotts – a UK Top 50 Chartered Accountancy firm and Business Adviser in 2012 as an apprentice, after studying for his A Levels at Devonport High School for Boys and has worked his way up over the last ten years.
He qualified with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) working as a manager and a key part of the Westcotts team, based in the firm’s Plymouth office, ever since.
Matt acts for a variety of clients in Plymouth and across Devon, including charities, corporate entities, partnerships, and sole traders, across a whole spectrum of industries.
He provides expert advice on tax and accountancy issues, as well as supporting clients on a wide range of financial matters, including tax returns and bookkeeping.
Matt is a member of the firm’s specialist digital team reviewing the latest innovations in cloud accounting enabling him to support his clients on their journey to the modern accounting landscape.
When he is not crunching numbers for clients, Matt spends his time attempting to improve his golf game (very slowly), going for long walks with his dogs and watching the Moto GP.

Westcotts has 17 offices across Devon and Somerset and employs around 280 members of staff. The firm supports a diverse range of businesses and individuals operating in local, national, and international markets.
