Aldermore remains a top three lender to SMEs under funding for lending scheme
Figures released by the Bank of England this morning have placed Aldermore third in a list of participants in the Funding for Lending Scheme (FLS).
Aldermore’s net new lending to SMEs as part of the scheme in the third quarter of 2014 was £73m. This continues the Bank’s sustained increase in lending to UK SMEs.
Commenting on the figures, Aldermore, chief executive, Phillip Monks said: “We are pleased to see that Aldermore is, once again, among the three lenders to have lent the most to SMEs during the third quarter of 2014. Aldermore is a bank that champions SMEs, we know how important small and medium-sized businesses are to the continuing economic recovery and are delighted to support them.
“It is imperative that banks focus on providing flexible finance for SMEs, as well as providing wider support in the form of customer service, above and beyond simply providing funding. We are committed to ensuring that strong, viable SMEs across the UK receive the funding they need to grow and succeed.”
