Arbuthnot Latham hires two new commercial bankers to bolster the specialist sector banking team
Arbuthnot Latham, the private and commercial bank, has appointed Kyle Driver and Andy Symes as senior commercial bankers to join the specialist sector banking team.
Their appointments are part of the continued development of the specialist sector commercial banking capability at Arbuthnot Latham, which is responsible for banking clients across Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI), technology, defence, and overseas businesses establishing or expanding their presence in the UK. This brings the total number of bankers in the team to five and further strengthens Arbuthnot’s commercial offering.
The appointments will bolster the team’s expanding capabilities and sector expertise, which now extend well beyond traditional relationship banking. The new hires will also enhance the team’s ability to build relationships across the private capital, venture capital, insurance and alternative asset management sectors, while supporting domestic clients and overseas financial services businesses establishing operations in the UK.

Kyle Driver has over 18 years’ experience in commercial banking, most recently serving as a director of Commercial Banking at Coutts. Kyle has extensive expertise in assisting firms across the financial services sector, including hedge funds, private capital, venture capital, and corporate finance. In his new role, Kyle will continue to specialise in supporting non-bank financial institutions and their banking requirements.

Andy Symes brings more than 42 years’ experience in commercial banking, with longstanding relationships across the financial services sector. In his new role, he will focus on developing and deepening relationships with non-bank financial institutions, drawing on his extensive experience to support clients with complex banking requirements and contribute to the continued growth of the specialist sector banking team.
Ben Sheeran, head of NBFI, Tech & Defence, said: “We’re pleased to welcome two additional bankers to our specialist sector team, which continues to be an area of growing focus for the commercial bank. The appointments reflect the increasing opportunities we are seeing across financial services, technology, defence as well as from overseas businesses establishing or expanding their presence in the UK. We continue to develop new capabilities where Arbuthnot can best position itself to sustain its strong growth trajectory. Kyle and Andy bring unique strengths and expertise to the team that will enhance the service we are able to deliver to our clients, from entrepreneurs to established businesses.”
