Arbuthnot Latham strengthens specialist expertise with key sector hires
Arbuthnot Latham,the private and commercial bank, is delighted to announce the appointment of four experts in new, specialist areas within the commercial banking team. It is the latest demonstration of the business’ continued growth and progression.
With a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to excellence, these new additions will further strengthen the bank’s commercial offering and enhance its ability to deliver exceptional value to its clients.
Arbuthnot Latham has seen strong growth in commercial banking over the last few years with client numbers up over 40% since 2020. This investment will further support SMEs who are driving the UK economy who also demand a relationship-led approach to banking.
Ben Sheeran will head up the tech banking & inward investment team. Prior to his appointment, Ben worked at Metro Bank and Barclays, setting up new propositions across fintech, professional services, and inward investment. This has positioned him perfectly to help companies understand and respond to a rapidly changing ecosystem. He also has experience of founding his own business, with a very strong understanding of inception and early funding.
Gavin Smith has joined to lead the bank’s proposition for the video games and creative industries, which is now a £7bn market in the UK alone. Gavin has many years of experience within the banking sector, previously working for Barclays for nearly 12 years where he managed a portfolio of video games and media businesses.
Paul Reidy will lead Arbuthnot Latham’s newly formed proposition focusing on the construction sector. He has 15 years’ experience working in the banking sector, having previously worked for Metro Bank, HSBC, Barclays, and AIB.
Chris Dyer heads up the bank’s insolvency practitioner proposition. He is an experienced new business developer who has worked within the financial sector for 25 years in a variety of roles, now specialising in building and managing relationships with professional companies.
These appointments have allowed Arbuthnot Latham to bolster its client proposition by aligning its business units to new client segments, continuing the momentum across commercial banking in terms of sector specialisms.
