Aspen bolsters underwriting team with two more hires
Aspen Bridging continues to expand its team in 2021 with Katherine Wilson recruited as an underwriter and Aqib Iqbal joining as an underwriter & risk team member.
Wilson arrives from Precise Mortgages where she worked as short-term lending processor in the bridging department. She has a bachelor’s degree in business management from Chester University.
Iqbal holds a law with politics (LLB) degree and LPC & MSc in law, business and management. He has recently worked with Latham & Watkins LLP and previously was a legal administrator at Cooks LLP.
In February, Aspen announced that Ian Miller-Hawes had been appointed to the newly created role of head of sales with Laura Randall hired as an underwriter and Jonathan Caddy as senior IT developer.
In total it brings the overall headcount to over 20.
Jack Coombs, director at Aspen said: “April was a record month where we lent £23m, and we are on track for having a record May.
“To meet the increasing workload throughout this year and beyond we need to keep adding staff, and as is the case with Aqib and Katherine we will look to bring in more recent graduates who we educate through our own comprehensive internal programmes to ensure their service is the best in the industry.”
Aspen’s ratecard offers a stepped rate of 0.44% and a flat rate of 0.74%. They are available across all products up to a maximum loan size of £5m net and 75% LTV across 6-18 months.
The Rapid Desktop Valuation bridging product was introduced so cases can be completed in as little as two working days, and its Light Development product is available up to 75% LTV with 100% cost of works in arrears.
Applications are open to UK and overseas borrowers, either individuals or corporates, for properties across England and Wales.
