Peer-to-peer lender Assetz Capital has appointed two new regional directors as it looks to further expand its deal flow in Scotland.
Duncan Cassidy has taken on the role of relationship director for Scotland, having previously held a role within the credit management team at the peer-to-peer lender. Duncan’s focus will be constructing facilities and for small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) from a broad range of sectors across Scotland. Prior to joining Assetz, Duncan was a credit partner at Santander for three years, where he specialised in providing growth finance for care home groups.
Rory Whaling also joins as a relationship director. Rory has spent the last 17 years in the banking industry covering various finance roles in the corporate environment. In his previous roles, Rory was responsible for tailoring a wide range of financial solutions for his clients, which varied from small family-run enterprises to large corporates.
Both Duncan and Rory will join the UK-North team, which is headed up by regional director, John Hewitt.
John Hewitt said: “The appetite for alternative finance remains high in Scotland, as well as the wider North of the UK. In order to meet this demand, we were keen to expand our team in the region, which will in turn allow us to serve a greater number of businesses and property developers.
“Rory and Duncan are excellent additions to our growing team. Both are experienced individuals with excellent track records, and I’m confident they will support us in our mission to become the leading provider of peer-to-peer finance in Scotland and the North of England.”
