Association of Business Mentors launches workplace mentoring programmes
The professional body for business mentoring, the Association of Business Mentors, has today launched new workplace mentoring initiatives. These new services, which reflect the ABM’s ongoing commitment to support the growth and success of UK Businesses, provides organisations who have mentoring programmes, or wish to offer mentoring programmes to their staff, the tools to maximise success and in turn support growth of their employees and business.
Commenting on the launch Georgina Waite ABM CEO said: “Workplace mentoring is proven to drive measurable improvements in business. From increased productivity and employee satisfaction to a more cohesive workplace culture and higher profitability. However, the success of these initiatives depends on more than just good intentions – an effective mentoring programme requires careful planning, structure, and expertise.
Mentoring in the workplace re-engages, motivates, and creates a united front where skills can be transferred. It decreases the risks of cultural stagnation, low job satisfaction and a disengaged work environment.
The statistics that evidence this:
- Improve staff retention rates – rates are 20% higher when employees receive mentoring.
- Increase productivity – companies that implement formal mentoring programmes experience a 72% increase in productivity.
- Positive cultural change – 100% of Executives cited an increase in job satisfaction.
- Develop leadership skills – 97% of mentors in the workplace say participation in a programme has helped them to develop their leadership skills.
- Increase company profits – Companies with mentoring programmes had profits that were 18% better than average
