Azets boosts its Northamptonshire audit team with new partner promotion
Azets, the UK’s largest regional accountancy and business advisor to SMEs, has promoted Richard Monkhouse to partner in its Kettering office.
Richard joined the firm’s Peterborough office in November 2014 before moving to the Kettering office in January 2021. He leads the team there on a range of external audits, including charities, owner manager business, UK and overseas Groups and academy schools, varying from single academies to large multi academy trusts. His portfolio includes clients in many different sectors from education, construction and manufacturing. Richard is also advisor/accountant to owner managed businesses and SMEs, ensuring not only are their accounts produced but advising on numerous other business matters. This includes making sure tax efficiencies are optimised and tax planning opportunities identified.
Richard has a First-Class Honours Degree in Accounting and Finance and qualified as a Certified Chartered Accountant in 2006. He spends most of his spare time outdoors, either cycling or in the mountains, either in his home county of Cumbria or Northern Wales. Richard is not averse to a challenge and includes the trek to Everest Base Camp and cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats amongst his achievements. His love of working with the education sector also extends to his personal life where he is a school governor and chair of finance in a local multi academy trust.
Paul Tyler, office managing partner for the Kettering office, commented: “I am very pleased we can announce Richard’s promotion to partner. Although he has only been with the office for a relatively short time, he has been a real asset to us, not just in the audit field but strengthening the partnership group as a whole. Over recent weeks and months Richard has been through a rigorous selection process and has come out of that with flying colours with excellent feedback from his peers. I look forward to working with Richard over the coming years to continue to deliver the level of service our clients have come to expect from us and to further develop the staff and service offering from the Kettering office.”
Tim Croft, regional managing partner at Azets, added: “I am delighted at Richard’s well-deserved promotion. In his new role he will continue to be a great asset to the Kettering Office and the wider region and I am very much looking forward to personally welcoming him to the leadership group. This promotion also demonstrates to all our employees the opportunities available to them across the group and not just limited to their local office.”
