Bank of England inflation report
The Bank of England has made changes in its communication of monetary policy. Instead of publishing the MPC decision, minutes and the Inflation Report on separate days, these are now published simultaneously.
As a part of the new arrangements, a concise summary covering the MPC’s policy decision and the main elements of the minutes is produced. The summary will now be published alongside every policy decision made by the MPC. For the summary of the November MPC meeting see http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/publications/Pages/news/2015/011.aspx
In months where an Inflation Report is also produced, this summary additionally covers the main elements of the inflation report, replacing the report’s overview. The November Inflation Report can be found in full at: http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/publications/Pages/inflationreport/2015/nov.aspx
As part of the changes, the structure of the report has been adjusted to match more closely the structure of the MPC’s meetings and minutes. Section 1 covers global economic and financial developments including commodity prices, section 2 covers demand and output including money and credit, section 3 covers supply and the labour market while section 4 covers costs and prices.
