Specialist funder leads the way in promoting alternative finance to wider audience
Bibby Financial Services (BFS), has announced a new TV advertising campaign to promote alternative finance to a wider audience becoming the first independent invoice finance provider to advertise on national television for many years.
The funder’s red cushion advert will premiere on Saturday 10 May when it will broadcast across the Sky network for four weeks.
David Postings, UK chief executive of BFS says the advertisement paves the way in promoting invoice finance and alternative funding to a wider audience. He said: “This is a significant milestone – not only for Bibby Financial Services – but for the invoice finance industry and it will undoubtedly raise the profile of non-bank lending to businesses.”
The advert highlights three typical business types using this form of finance, showing the support on offer to SMEs.
David said: “Our clients are the driving force of this campaign so it was really important for us to reflect the types of businesses we support.
“It was also key that we highlighted the level of funding we’re currently providing to businesses to publicise our significant contribution to the economy.”
On 1 May, members of the Asset Based Finance Association (ABFA) congregated at the trade association’s annual conference in Edinburgh, which was hosted by BBC business and economics journalist, Declan Curry.
Discussion at the event touched upon the vital role asset based finance providers play in the economy and Postings believes that the new campaign will help to raise awareness of non-bank lending among a mass audience. He said: “There’s no denying that the banks play a vital role in the provision of finance to SMEs.
“However, an ever increasing number of businesses are turning to the flexibility and support provided by asset based finance providers.
“I’m delighted that Bibby Financial Services is helping to raise the profile of this vital form of funding to a mass audience.”
BFS provides funding solutions to 7,000 businesses in the UK, handling annual client turnover of £4.9bn.
David added: “The campaign is further confirmation of our critical role in providing support to these businesses and shows us competing head-to-head with the banks on a wider platform.”
