Birmingham broker announces high-level promotion
Leading commercial finance broker Navigate Commercial Finance has promoted a key team member in its Birmingham office as the firm continues on its growth trajectory.
Adam Cooksley has been promoted to business development director. This comes on the back of the firm experiencing fast growth since its launch five years ago by finance professional and managing director Paul Varley. Adam has 15 years’ experience helping SME businesses achieve growth across a variety of industries and in his new role will continue to build relationships with businesses, professionals and lenders across the Midlands region. He is also an award winning BD of the Year, recognised locally for his contribution to the Midlands business community in 2025.
Paul Varley, managing director at Navigate Commercial Finance said: “Adam’s promotion recognises his contribution to Navigate Commercial Finance, having made such an impact on the business and in the Coventry and Warwickshire region since joining four years ago. He has played an important role in our success. As our company expands, I want our team members to grow alongside us. That means giving them increased responsibility, supporting their growth, and helping them build long-term careers. We’ve established a fantastic reputation and have plans to keep growing, making this an incredibly exciting chapter for both the business and everyone on the team.”
Adam Cooksley added: “It’s great to be part of Navigate Commercial Finance’s continued growth and my promotion forms the next step of my career progression. I enjoy working with SMEs and finding them the most appropriate finance to support their ambitions. By expanding our reach and helping more SMEs unlock the vital funding they need to thrive, we are empowering businesses across the region to overcome financial barriers and achieve their true potential.”

This year Navigate Commercial Finance celebrated its five-year anniversary and announced Ben Hayward joined the board as commercial director. To date the firm has delivered over £100m in total funding, securing vital financial facilities for more than 200 businesses, with growth, refinancing, and working capital emerging as the primary drivers for investment.
Managing director Paul Varley established Navigate Commercial Finance in 2021 to help SMEs raise finance that is best suited to their needs. The team works directly with businesses as well as a range of professionals including accountants, banks, alternative lenders, and corporate finance specialists to support any of their clients seeking new finance facilities. Principal funding solutions provided include invoice finance, asset based lending, cashflow loans, revolving credit facilities, asset finance and real estate finance.
