Bishop Fleming appoints former PwC capital allowances expert
Leading audit, accountancy, tax and advisory firm Bishop Fleming has appointed Sara Ffoulkes to lead the growth of its Capital Allowances offering, helping businesses unlock tax savings on capital investment and improve cashflow. Her appointment comes as 25% of UK businesses identify high or rising costs as a key challenge for the year ahead, according to the government’s National Survey of Businesses.
Based in Bishop Fleming’s Birmingham office, but with a national role, Sara brings 20 years’ experience advising businesses on capital allowances. She has held specialist roles at Deloitte and KPMG, most recently spending 11 years at PwC, where she played a key role in developing and growing the firm’s specialist capital allowances offering.

Throughout her career, Sara has advised businesses of all sizes, from large corporates to smaller family-owned firms, across sectors including infrastructure, retail and leisure. She has helped businesses identify and maximise tax relief opportunities arising from investment in property, equipment and other qualifying assets.
In her new role, Sara will focus on the continued development of Bishop Fleming’s Capital Allowances offering, working closely with colleagues across the firm’s regional offices to ensure clients can access specialist expertise and maximise the value of their investment decisions.
Sara Ffoulkes, capital allowances director at Bishop Fleming, said: “I’m excited to be joining Bishop Fleming at a time of continued growth and ambition for the firm. Capital allowances can make a significant difference to businesses investing in their future, but the rules can be complex and opportunities to claim relief are not always fully understood.”
“With businesses facing rising operating costs, including higher employer National Insurance contributions, identifying opportunities to reduce tax liabilities and improve cash flow is more important than ever. I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the firm to help clients identify opportunities, make informed investment decisions and realise the full value of available tax reliefs.”
Mark Taylor, Birmingham office lead at Bishop Fleming, said: “Sara brings a wealth of specialist knowledge and experience, having advised businesses on capital allowances for two decades.
“Her appointment is an important step in broadening our tax offering and ensuring clients can access the specialist advice they need as they invest and grow. We’re delighted to welcome Sara to the firm and look forward to the impact she will make for both our clients and our people.”
Sara’s appointment forms part of Bishop Fleming’s continued investment in specialist expertise, strengthening its national offering and ensuring clients have access to the advice and support they need as their businesses grow and evolve.
