Brickwork and roofing masterclasses now available at NHBC hubs
The Home Builders Federation (HBF) has announced dates for open Brickwork and Roofing Masterclasses being delivered at NHBC hubs, aimed at supporting SMEs and subcontractors to access free training.
Up until now, the masterclasses have been exclusively delivered on home building sites, requiring a minimum group size.
Recognising that some SMEs and subcontractors may lack suitable on-site space to host training or struggle to meet the minimum attendee requirements, HBF has launched a schedule of sessions to be delivered at NHBC hubs in Cambridge, Tamworth, Hull and Newcastle.
The open courses are suitable for individual bookings and will complement the existing in-company offer:
- Brickwork Masterclass: Cambridge, Wednesday 23 October, 9am to 10.30am
- Roofing Masterclass: Cambridge, Wednesday 23 October, 1pm to 2.30pm
- Brickwork Masterclass: Tamworth, Wednesday 6 November, 9am to 10.30am
- Roofing Masterclass: Tamworth, Wednesday 6 November, 1pm to 2.30pm
- Brickwork Masterclass: Newcastle, Wednesday 13 November, 9am to 10.30am
- Roofing Masterclass: Newcastle, Wednesday 13 November, 1pm to 2.30pm
- Brickwork Masterclass: Hull, Wednesday 20 November, 9am to 10.30am
- Roofing Masterclass: Hull, Wednesday 20 November, 1pm to 2.30pm
Funded by CITB and delivered by NHBC inspectors, the sessions have been designed in collaboration with the Association of Brickwork Contractors (ABC) and the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) to enhance the skills of bricklaying and roofing tradespeople working on home building sites throughout England, Wales, and Scotland.
Since the launch of the initiative in 2019, around 15,000 tradespeople have benefitted from training, with supervisors reporting improvements in the quality of work delivered following the training.
