Business Toolbox product launched by Lloyds to help small businesses
Lloyds Bank has teamed up with business support network Smarta Enterprises to launch a new digital service for SME customers, designed to help entrepreneurs start, manage and grow their business effectively.
Accessible online from anywhere in the world, the Business ToolBox offers unrestricted access to nine online tools to help manage all aspects of day-to-day business activities, from accounting and receipt management to digital tools for building websites, online data backup and a credit-checking facility.
Business ToolBox can be trialled with no obligation to buy, giving businesses more flexibility to decide which items will help them the most. The resources have been introduced as part of Lloyds Banking Group’s commitment to improve digital skills in SMEs and its continuing partnership with Go ON UK, the digital skills charity chaired by Martha Lane Fox.
The Lloyds Bank Business Digital Index, published in April, found that a third of businesses across the UK are without basic online skills and do not see the benefits of doing more online such as saving time and increasing efficiency. Research that helped inform the ToolBox showed that 94% of business owners said the tools would be relevant to their company.
Nick Williams, consumer digital director at Lloyds Bank, said: “We are committed to helping UK firms, and Business ToolBox has been designed to offer SME owners the very best online tools that will help them run their businesses more effectively and save money. It has everything in one easy place to help firms be more efficient and pick out the opportunities for growth.”
Smarta worked with Lloyds Banking Group to devise the package of tools that would be most beneficial for its SME customers across the country.
Shaa Wasmund, founder of Smarta, added: “We’re focused on making life easier for the people behind the UK’s 4.8 million small businesses. That means providing them with the support they need to be able to focus their time on growing their businesses rather than simply managing them. We’re really excited to be launching Business ToolBox with Lloyds, and we look forward to seeing how its business customers benefit.”
