Cambridge & Counties Bank expands Yorkshire real estate team with new senior hire
Specialist lender Cambridge & Counties Bank has expanded its presence in Yorkshire with the appointment of Simon Steer to the role of senior relationship manager in the real estate finance team. Based out of the bank’s Sheffield regional office, Simon will report to Carl Ashley, regional director.
Simon joins Cambridge & Counties Bank with close to 24 years’ experience in banking. Previous roles include a six-year stint as broker business development manager at NatWest and 14 years at Royal Bank of Scotland, including 10 years as a business development manager in Huddersfield. Prior to joining, he worked briefly for Redwood Bank covering the South Yorkshire region.
Simon has extensive experience of working with commercial brokers, professional services firms such as solicitors, valuers and accountants, and other intermediaries across the real estate market. Along with real estate finance, he has experience in sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, leisure, agricultural, retail and wholesale.
Cambridge & Counties Bank saw enhanced demand for its real estate product suite in 2021 across the UK, illustrating the strength and competitiveness of the bank’s products as well as its customer-centric business model. Throughout Yorkshire the bank has seen increasing demand for the provision of funding for acquisition and re-financing of industrial estates, warehousing assets along with residential investment buy to let portfolios.
