Commercial developer sentiment rises for second consecutive month
Commenting on the Savills Commercial Development Activity Report for December, Ian Boden, head of commercial mortgages and portfolio management at Aldermore, said:
“While the December data shows a rather downbeat end to 2015, with commercial activity in the UK rising at the slowest rate in almost three years, the rise in positive sentiment among developers for the second consecutive month gives cause for optimism, with the drop in activity mostly confined to the public sector.
“Although the data shows activity being led by London and the South East, it is important to remember that there are opportunities in other regions, with Manchester attracting more commercial property investment than any other city outside London over the last decade, and cities such as Leeds, Glasgow and Aberdeen seeing more investment per capita than Manchester and Birmingham.”
