CQI encourages business leaders to focus on quality to get ahead
The Chartered Quality Institute’s annual conference this year is calling on organisational leaders to prioritise quality of products and services when building their long term strategies.
A recent report found 80% of manufacturers are citing quality as their number one focus for their businesses and one of the key reasons they are returning to British shores.
With manufacturers focussing on quality the CQI conference will befinding out how other successful British businesses keep quality at the top of their agenda. High profile speakers from Chelsea FC and Marks and Spencer’s will be sharing their challenges and how they managed profit and reputation without sacrificing quality.

Jo Moran, head of customer service at M&S played a fundamental role in leading the recovery of the brand’s service ethos through establishing a clear customer proposition.
Mike Forde, former director of football operations at Chelsea FC will be explaining the importance of, analysing and adapting performance in a business where over 75% of wages are spent on less than 10% of the workforce and return on such a huge investment is crucial.
Anthony Hilton, financial editor for the Evening Standard will be outlining the challenges facing organisations in managing and protecting their reputations and consider how organisations might more effectively mitigate the risk of quality failures and embed a culture of quality product and service.
Professor John Oakland, chairman of Oakland Consulting LLP and of the newly created CQI’s Professional Policy Panel which has embarked on an initiative to redefine and reposition the quality profession.
