Creative workspace launched in Cradley Health with support from British Business Bank
Creatv Hub, a new creative and collaborative workspace based in Cradley Heath, secured a £13,000 Start Up Loan with support from First Enterprise under the British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans programme.
Founded by designer and entrepreneur Jason Nettleford, Creatv Hub offers flexible studio hire, digital design services, and networking opportunities for local businesses, freelancers, and community projects.
The funding was used to help launch the business, covering initial premises costs, purchasing equipment and furniture, and supporting marketing activity
The business was inspired by Jason’s long-held ambition to create a collaborative creative space where people can work together, build connections, network and strengthen the local creative community.
The funding helped Jason overcome one of the biggest challenges facing the business: the upfront costs of securing and fitting out commercial premises. The Start Up Loan has enabled Jason to establish Creatv Hub and begin welcoming its first members and clients.

Jason Nettleford, founder of Creatv Hub, said: “Since graduating from university in 2013, I’ve always had a dream of building a creative space. Being surrounded by a creative network of people has always inspired me. I’ve always believed in collaboration and finding ways to make things better while building stronger communities.
“One of the biggest challenges was the initial cost of securing the premises and navigating the legal side of the lease agreement. The loan helped with those upfront costs and has allowed me to invest in everything needed to get Creatv Hub off the ground.
“My experience with First Enterprise was absolutely brilliant. Petra was fantastic throughout the process and we worked really well together to ensure everything went as smoothly as possible. First Enterprise have been brilliant and I’d definitely recommend them.”
Petra Eddison, business adviser at First Enterprise, added: “Jason had a clear vision for creating a collaborative space that would support creative professionals and local businesses. It was a pleasure to support him throughout his Start Up Loan journey and I’m excited to see Creatv Hub become a valuable asset for the local creative community.”
Louise McCoy, managing director, Start Up Loans Products, British Business Bank, said: “Creatv Hub is a good example of how entrepreneurial ambition, combined with the right support and funding, can bring a new space to life. It’s inspiring to see how Jason has turned his vision into a hub that brings together creative professionals and local businesses.
“Start Up Loans are designed to give entrepreneurs the support they need to take their ideas forward, and we’re pleased to have played a part in it.”
