Dorset care home sold to experienced local operator, Southey Care Dorset Ltd
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has completed on the sale of Clarence House care home in Ferndown, Dorset, to existing care home operator Southey Care Dorset Ltd.
Clarence House is a purpose-built care home registered for 29 service users in the categories of old age and Dementia. The home benefits from 27 bedrooms, the majority of which have en suite facilities, and ample day space within the property. There is a parking area for numerous vehicles and secure lawned rear garden providing outdoor space for residents.
The business was previously owned by Shervey Ltd which decided to sell to concentrate on other businesses in its portfolio. Speaking on behalf of the company, director, Mr David Henson comments, “Having purchased Clarence House through Charles at Christie & Co in 2010, when we decided to sell, we immediately approached him to see if a confidential marketing process could be undertaken so as not to affect the business or residents. We are delighted to have agreed and concluded a sale to Southey Care Dorset Ltd and believe that, with their local contacts and knowledge, they will do extremely well at Clarence House.”
The property has been purchased by local health and social care provider, Southey Care Dorset Ltd. A spokesperson from the company comments, “This is an ideal purchase for our company as our existing care home is close by and both homes will complement each other well. We look forward to working with the staff, residents and their families and hope that we will build on the home’s good name in the local area.”

As they wanted a confidential sale, we immediately thought that Southey Care Dorset Ltd would be an ideal purchaser for this home. We approached them and a deal was agreed within a very short timeframe. This is the second care home they have purchased through Christie & Co, and we look forward to assisting them with any subsequent purchases in the future.”
Clarence House was sold at an undisclosed price.
