Duff & Phelps acquires Corporate Finance Ireland (CFI)
Duff & Phelps, the premier global valuation and corporate finance advisor, announced the acquisition of Corporate Finance Ireland (CFI), a leading corporate finance firm in the Republic of Ireland. The acquisition contributes to Duff & Phelps’ growth in Ireland, and follows the firm’s acquisition of the restructuring and insolvency division of RSM Farrell Grant Sparks and Kinetic Partners in the past two years.
Established in 1987, CFI has a strong reputation in M&A and property asset management in Ireland. Over the past 24 months CFI has secured in excess of €150m in debt funding for privately held businesses to support growth strategies on a domestic and cross jurisdictional basis.
CFI also operates a real estate portfolio management business, providing varied property services to syndicated co-ownerships with a client list of 300 investors. The company has acquired over 70 commercial properties on behalf of clients and manages a significant real estate portfolio in Ireland and across Europe.
Duff & Phelps’ Irish business now includes over 70 professionals specializing in restructuring, insolvency, M&A, compliance and regulatory consulting, fairness opinions, private capital raising and real estate advisory. With the addition of CFI, the firm’s global corporate finance practice has more than 400 professionals across Europe, the U.S. and Canada.
Commenting on the announcement, Anne O’Dwyer, managing director of Duff & Phelps Ireland, said:
“We are delighted that CFI has chosen to join Duff & Phelps and welcome their M&A and property asset management expertise. The addition of CFI will help us meet the growing demand of clients looking to take their businesses to the next level. Duff & Phelps is committed to increasing the value we bring to our clients in Ireland and the services we offer the Irish market.”
Luke Mooney, director of CFI, added:
“Joining Duff & Phelps is a fantastic opportunity for the evolution of CFI and the right strategic fit for both companies. The Irish economic recovery has resulted in more firms looking to raise capital with plans to expand domestically and internationally. Duff & Phelps’ scale and global reach in terms of debt advisory and access to private equity capital will immediately benefit our existing client base by allowing us to draw on their international expertise and broader range of services.”
