Evelyn Partners strengthens debt & capital advisory business with new partner
Evelyn Partners, the wealth management and professional services group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Fenton Burgin as a partner, head of debt & capital advisory with a remit to lead the continued growth of its debt and capital advisory practice.
Joining from Deloitte, where he was a partner responsible for the expansion of a successful debt and capital advisory team, and with more than 30 years’ experience, Fenton has originated and led significant Board level client relationships, advised on over £20bn of debt facilities across the UK, Europe and the US and served a broad range of public and private mid-market companies, institutions and investors.
John Rugman, head of advisory at Evelyn Partners commented: “I’m delighted that Fenton is joining Evelyn Partners. With improving market conditions this year, alongside an increasing range of debt providers keen to deploy capital, we’re seeing strong demand for independent, conflict-free debt advice from our mid-market clients. Fenton has extensive Board level expertise and will build on the range of experience we have across the firm. We see this as an exciting move and are committed to making further material investments in the team. “
Fenton added: “I’m really excited to join such a fast growing, high calibre advisory team. There is real ambition at Evelyn Partners to expand a diverse, market leading debt advisory proposition that combines deep local expertise and connections with truly global, cross border mid-market execution capability. I’m thrilled to join a firm with offices in nearly 30 towns and cities across the UK, Ireland and Jersey, a powerful network of private company relationships, leading industry expertise and membership of the Oaklins International network, one of the world’s most experienced mid-market M&A advisers.”
With various articles, speeches at business forums and wider thought leadership, Fenton has also served in prior senior advisory roles at Close Brothers and Schroders. Fenton also sat for 6 years from 2018 as a Non-Executive Board member for the Corporate Finance Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales representing over 7000 M&A professionals.
