Falkirk aquaculture business improves online presence to reach new customers with support from Business Gateway
A Falkirk aquaculture business has improved its online presence to reach new customers after the business owner accessed support from Business Gateway.
Established in 2022, Nexus Aquaculture Ltd specialises in the supply, servicing and support of aquaculture equipment. The family-owned business draws on extensive hands-on industry experience, with roots in fisheries and aquaculture dating back to 2007, and is committed to delivering practical, reliable solutions for fish farms across the UK and beyond.

Nexus Aquaculture Ltd’s portfolio includes everything from oxygenation solutions and underwater lighting to microbial testing tools and digital monitoring platforms. The business also offers training services and a marketplace for quality second-hand equipment.
Business owner, Gareth Hammond, has been working with Business Gateway adviser, Ally Kale, to help improve the business’ digital presence.
Through Business Gateway, Gareth received expert help on digital media and IT to help build a new website and attended a digital clinic to help review his online presence. Gareth also benefitted from marketing support to create photography and marketing content for the new website.
As well as marketing advice, Gareth was also introduced to Falkirk Council’s Employment Training Unit to discuss training and upskilling opportunities for his team.
The business’ new website has enabled Gareth and his team to market Nexus Aquaculture Ltd’s services more effectively, helping them reach additional customers.
Nexus Aquaculture Ltd’s efforts are already being recognised in the industry – the business is a finalist in this year’s Aquaculture UK Awards, shortlisted in the Supplier of the Year and Best New Start Up categories. The awards unite the international aquaculture community to honour the people, projects and organisations leading the way in innovation, sustainability and responsible farming.
Gareth Hammond, owner, Nexus Aquaculture, said: “Our mission is to support the aquaculture industry with reliable, sustainable and forward-thinking solutions.
“The support provided by Business Gateway has been instrumental in helping us strengthen our digital presence and marketing capability. Through the 90-minute digital clinic, development of a new website and ongoing marketing support for digital and photography content, we have been able to improve how we present our services online and engage more effectively with potential customers within the aquaculture sector.”
Ally Kale, Business Gateway adviser, said: “In today’s business landscape, a professional and effective online presence is essential for building trust and reaching the right audience. Supporting Gareth and the team in transforming Nexus Aquaculture Ltd’s digital presence and sharpening how it markets its services has helped create stronger visibility, clearer messaging and a foundation for continued growth.”
