Free app increases footfall by 30% above pre-Covid levels before easing
A restaurant struggling to survive lockdown has found a way to increase footfall by 30% above pre-Covid levels before easing even began by adopting a free app designed to help restaurants attract more customers.
The free App, called ‘Roam Local’, allows restaurants to make themselves more widely known on a nation-wide directory so they can attract both visitors and local customers with their own customised offers.
As Zak Ahmed, owner of Babul’s Indian Restaurant in Barnard Castle, explains: “We joined Roam Local in October 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic with, to be honest, little idea if it could save us… However, by using Roam we were able to engage with new and existing customers, providing them with our menus and all kinds of loyalty rewards, news, and offers.
“We were astonished at the results…. we increased our footfall by 30% in only four weeks, during a pandemic – compared to October 2019 across both dine in and takeaways. Roam certainly works, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”
Andrew Bartlett, founder and managing director of Roam Local, explains: “I developed this innovative new App to help support local businesses bounce back from lockdown, which has already proven a success by restaurants which have started using it.”
Mr Bartlett added: “Not only has the app now won a second award, it’s proven its ability to attract new customers and build loyalty and repeat business, providing a dramatic increase in profits.”
