Funder to host conference to help Brighton businesses get ‘fit for the future’
England rugby star to speak at conference for South Coast businesses
Specialist funder, Bibby Financial Services (BFS), is to host a conference in Brighton, bringing together small and medium sized enterprise owners with professional advisors such as accountants, finance brokers and financial advisers.
The Fit for the Future: Financing Business Aspirations event will take place at the Amex Stadium in Brighton on Thursday 23 October.
The speaker line-up features leading business figures including Evening Standard financial editor and author, Anthony Hilton and World Cup winner and former England and British Lions rugby player, Will Greenwood.
Speaking of the event, Will said: “From my own experience, I know that running a business isn’t easy and it’s hugely important to have the right support network around. This is a great opportunity to meet with other owners, entrepreneurs and business experts, and to discuss the challenges they face.”
Head of sales for Bibby Financial Services South Coast, Nick Carter said: “Following the economic downturn, businesses in and around Brighton are leaner and tougher than before. Across all sectors we have innovative, pioneering businesses striving to flourish, but many of them need a helping hand to make the step-up from survival to growth.
“We have developed an event agenda specifically for business owners and professional advisers as we believe there is a great opportunity to come together to stimulate business in the local area.”
The event is open to business owners of all sizes, in addition to the region’s network of business advisors. Registration will begin at 8am and the event is expected to close at around 11:30am.
Nick added: “Bibby Financial Services currently provides upwards of £60m to businesses in the south of England. In addition to this vital funding, we’re committed to helping businesses fulfil their ambitions by offering support and guidance.
“The event is a great opportunity for the Brighton business community to come together to discuss market opportunities and solutions to overcome business challenges such as cashflow, investment and supplier relationships.”
Speaker, Anthony Hilton, said the event offers valuable insight into the UK economy: “A day spent talking to fellow businessmen who are grappling with similar day to day challenges and long term problems as they seek to grow their companies will teach you more about what is happening in the British economy, than you will get from a life time spent listening to the views of city economists.”
Anthony added: “Economic theory has its place but in business it is no substitute for practical wisdom.”
